About Me

Hello! I'm Sonia and I like to make people feel great about themselves through photography. I fell in love with photography in high school, when I could barely load film into my camera, and have been thinking in pictures ever since. I chase beautiful light and will make photographs of anything and everything but I feel the most energized when I'm working with people (and pets) to make portraits of them.

I earned an MFA in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an MBA from Simmons University. My personal work has been featured in curated and juried shows at venues across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic such as the Fuller Art Museum, Artspace, Center for Photography at Woodstock, Copley Society of Art, Silvereye Center of Photography, and the Photographic Resource Center.

Based in the Boston, MA area, I work in higher education and occasionally teach photography workshops, including iPhone photography, because I  love teaching people how to make better images with the tools they have.

This is me with an iPhone-made selfie because the light in my car was just right. :)
